"What an amazing experience! My first Moonwalk but definitely not my last! Such a wonderful atmosphere, thank you xx" - Joanne Watkins
Thanks to all the volunteers, member of the public and fellow walkers I encountered whilst completing my first Moonwalk!- Heidi Smith
With just a little bit of commitment and a big helping of enthusiasm anybody can take on The MoonWalk... and get to see our wonderful capital city like never before!
Every Walkers receives an official T shirt, Cap, Training Guide with a specific Walk the Walk Training Plan, Space Blanket, Weather Protector, an Organic Pasta or Rice meal and an Organic Flapjack, before setting off, and of course a Bra to decorate... and if that wasn’t enough, the Walk the Walk Team are always on hand to help you every step of the way!
So...jump up and move your feet to the beat and get ready to Mambo... Salsa... Calypso..., we’re having a Carnival celebration for Walk the Walk’s 20th Birthday... what better time to pull out feathers and sequins galore... one thing is certain it is shaping up to be a night to remember!
Some really simple and easy-to-make lifestyle changes that could make a big difference to your overall health and well-being!
The MoonWalk London may be walking, but should not be underestimated, like any challenge it does need preparation. There is plenty of advice and support throughout our web site on how to prepare for this challenge and in particular the lead up to the final weeks. We want to make sure that you reach the Finish Line in great shape and smiling!
Most MoonWalkers are now well into their training and will be heading towards the big 20 and 10 mile training walks at the end of April. For those of you that have recently joined the Half Moon, Training Plans and advice are all available on our web site, in advance of your receiving your Walker Pack, so you can start training now. The most important thing is to get out walking, just don’t be tempted to go to fast too soon as you may find yourselves with shin splints or other minor injuries and that is the last thing you need a this stage.
By raising the minimum sponsorship of £100.00 you will be helping us to reach our £6 million goal. These funds will then be granted to charities and organisations where we know it will make the most difference towards vital breast cancer causes. At the same time we ask for your commitment to train and prepare for this unique and exciting challenge. What a fantastic exchange... You get fitter and healthier... whilst helping the many people living with cancer now, and those in the future, all benefit from Walk the Walk fundraising!
Last night was perfect. The whole team did you proud. That was MoonWalk number 10 for me and one of the best to date.- Stacey Lloyd Ayriss
