Walk the Camino Trail in style for breast cancer!

Bra Image

We have taken the ancient Camino pilgrimage route and given it a 21st century twist. Starting the adventure at our highest point C’ebreiro to our final destination, the famous Santiago de Compostela. The journey will take you up and down hills, through woodland and past many tiny hamlets, farmhouses and villages... you will finally reach The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

A great value trip as so much is included... just lunches and flights to cover.

Walking 100 miles in 5 days will take you on a personal and challenging journey through Galicia... a true test of endurance and a personal journey of mental and physical achievement

PLUS, 2021 (and now 2022) is a very special year and is known as the 'Holy Year', 'Xacobeo 2021'... as the feast of St James, 25th July, falls on a Sunday, it is a cause for celebrations... for those pilgrims who walk to Santiago de Compostela and pass through the Holy Door of the Santiago Cathedral are forgiven for all their sins. There are only 14 Holy Years in a century.

Due to COVID-19, the pope has extended the Holy Year to cover 2022!

Training

You will be provided with a exclusive Camino 100 Training Plan to make sure you are at your peak for the Challenge! Walk the Walk have been training teams for the last 15 years so we know exactly what you have to do!

14 week Training Plan will be sent out with your Walker Pack. For this challenge you will need to commit to training; it can be intense and has consecutive training walks, so can be time consuming. The Training Plan is like this so that your body is prepared to walk 100 miles over 5 consecutive days. Alongside this, we also recommend taking part in other exercises such as swimming or pilates to increase your overall level of fitness.

The route is a mix of tarmac and off road pathways through farms, towns and villages and you will come across a few hills along the way too!

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

As we all know the situation with Covid is continually changing and unfortunately none of us can look into the future and predict what will be happening month to month let alone several months into the future.

We will of course keep you updated with all government information for both leaving and re-entering the UK and also entering and travelling within Spain

Current guidelines as of 02/02/2022 are as follows;

Travelling to Spain from the UK:

If fully vaccinated, you:

  • must show proof of being fully vaccinated, with last vaccination at least 14 days prior to travelling to Spain (proof: NHS Covid Pass for Travel Abroad).
  • can enter Spain without needing to test or quarantine regardless of your reason for travel.
  • may be subject to additional checks at the point of entry including a temperature check, visual health assessment, or testing on arrival.
  • must fill out a Health Control Form.

However everyone arriving into Spain who have visited a ‘risk country’ in the previous 14 days must meet further requirements.

If not fully vaccinated:

Under the Spanish government’s current measures, you can only enter Spain from the UK for tourism purposes if you can show proof of being fully vaccinated.

Returning to the UK:

If fully vaccinated, as of the 14th February 2022, you:

  • will not need to take a COVID-19 test before you travel to England or after you arrive.
  • will not need to quarantine when you arrive.
  • will need to complete a passenger locator form before you travel to England.

Walk the Walk Policy

Given the nature of what we do and that many people supporting us will be of high risk, we want to ensure the maximum safety we can within our control.

We will be asking that all participants are double vaccinated and boostered, and that if anyone for whatever reason cannot be vaccinated to get in touch as soon as possible. We will also be asking all participants to complete an LFT the night before departure and to send the test to Walk the Walk.

Whilst we are very aware that by the nature of the event and that you will be staying in a number of hotels, we cannot guarantee everyone’s health, we can at least start out with the assurance that everyone is well.

We will be keeping you updated with any changes and also sending further information closer to the time.  In the meantime, how wonderful to be back in the saddle and preparing for Walk the Walk adventures again!

"The first morning mists on the Camino were some of the most special moments for me, in parts walking through woods, some on the top of the mountain, it is so peaceful and all pretty atmospheric!" Reggie
