Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex, celebrate their 1st Birthday!

Yesterday afternoon a very special tea party was held at Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex, to celebrate their first full year in operation. 

Breast Cancer Haven is a national charity, offering free emotional, physical and practical support to those with breast cancer, including complementary therapies, counselling, nutritional advice, exercise classes and financial advice. A diagnosis of breast cancer can be frightening and the treatment gruelling, Breast Cancer Haven is there to help those living with breast cancer through these toughest of times. Grants from Walk the Walk have enabled The Haven to secure a firm footing at their London branch which in turn has allowed them to expand their services and reach more cancer patients in Leeds, Hereford and Wessex. 

Nina attended the birthday tea party along with some of our Walkers from the local area! It was a fabulous opportunity for everyone to see how the money raised from Walk the Walk events helps such a worthwhile cause. It also gave our Walkers a rare chance to meet in person with some of Breast Cancer Haven’s users who have received the benefits of the centre’s support and tranquil environment.  

With the help of money donated by Walk the Walk, Breast Cancer Haven has been able to provide 2,681 hours of free therapies to 264 service users in their first year alone. So, Happy Birthday Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex, we are excited to see what the next year brings!
