Sat 18th May, Clapham Common

On Saturday 18th May, almost 150 walkers of all ages and abilities will take on a 5K route around Clapham Common, to raise money and awareness for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk. The charity is best known as the organiser of the iconic night-time MoonWalk London fundraising event, which will take place later the same day.

Sophie Brooke from Streatham is taking part in the 5K Zoom Walk with her mum Flora, Dad Nick, Brother Orlando and two-year-old daughter Raia:

“As a family, we’ve taken part in The MoonWalk London for many years, in memory of my grandmother who died from breast cancer. We’ve always been hugely inspired by the Walk the Walk’s Founder Nina Barough and the work which the charity does and that’s why we keep on coming back.

At just two years old, my daughter Raia is now the third generation of our family to take part in a Walk the Walk event and the 5K Zoom will be perfect for her. She’s been walking for around a year and we thought it would be fabulous to actually have her taking part in a challenge with us! We know that the camaraderie during the 5K Zoom will be just like it is every year for The MoonWalk itself and we can’t wait!”
Entries are open at www.walkthewalk.org until 3pm on Friday 17th May and walkers will also be able to sign up in person at Clapham Common between 9.30am and 10.30am.
