Walk the distance doing it Your Way in May!

Have you got the legs for this month's challenge? May... Your Way! is all about walking the distance, but doing it any way you want over the month of May. Choose from the challenge list below and set yourself a fantastic Spring goal!

There's nothing like a bit of healthy competition to keep those feet moving so get your friends and family out walking with you, but anyone entering must complete the distance for themselves to get their prized medal... Plus, if you're already MoonWalking in May you can use your distance as part of your goal... 2 beautiful medals in one month... Bonus!

Take it Steady! - 100 miles to be walked during the month of May

Ramp it Up! - 200 miles to be walked during the month of May

Intensity! - 275 miles to be walked during the month of May

You can choose from having a Unique Monthly Challenge Spring medal with full Walk the Walk support, or you can do it purely for the love of Walking with our Free option. 

Every mile you walk takes us closer to our £1million goal and helps those who need it most!

The Monthly Challenge and ‘May... Your Way!'

Each month, Walk the Walk bring you different walking challenges. This month is all about going the distance and adding those miles up! MoonWalkers can use their walking miles towards this goal and get an extra medal... 2 beautiful medals in one month... Bonus! 

 

What is 'May... your Way'?

This month's challenge is an individual distance challenge. Pick your chosen mileage and complete by the end of May. It's as easy as that!

You have from 1st - 31st May to sign up and complete one of the challenges listed below. 

 

How does it work?

Choose your challenge from the list below and then select which entry option you wish to register for:

Then click enter and register... it's as easy as that!

 

Take it Steady! - 100 miles to be walked during the month of May

Ramp it Up! - 200 miles to be walked during the month of May

Intensity! - 275 miles to be walked during the month of May

 

You will need to provide proof of completion. This is the responsibility of each challenger and must be received by Walk the Walk no later than 3rd June 2021 to ensure that paying entrants receive the well-deserved medal. Unfortunately, medals cannot be guaranteed after this date! 

If you have any problems submitting your proof of completion please let us know immediately.

For the collectors medal it is £15 to register… but if you want to go it alone and use it as a personal challenge with no medal then it is FREE... 

 

It is our aim that Walk the Walk keeps you feeling motivated and inspires you to achieve something new each month… whilst hopefully raising money to help those living with cancer...

These medals are extra special... you can collect 3 different medals for 3 different levels over a 3-month period (each level is a different colour), put them together and create one unique medal... simply mix up the ‘levels’! 

May is the third and final month of our Spring series... so make sure you add to your collection and register for the Challenge!

 

Different seasons will bring different challenges and different medals!

Fundraising!

Every penny you raise really does count... Walk the Walk needs your support now more than ever. Nothing must stop us uniting together against breast and other cancers… cancer doesn’t stop and neither will we!

 

The minimum amount you fundraise depends on your choice of Challenge Entry:

 

  • Challenge Entry and Medal – Minimum Fundraising goal is £25.00 per person.
  • Free Challenge Entry only – No minimum fundraising - we ask that you raise what you can or make a small donation.

How will the challenge be tracked?

What is Strava?

Strava is a free app to download, that uses GPS to record your distance walked... this is automatically connected to your online fundraising page on entry. 

 

How do I get it?

You can connect your Strava account when you create your online fundraising page or later on via the "Connect to Strava" button on your fundraising page. This will be visible when you are logged in.

 

IMPORTANT! Your Strava settings!

When you are completing your challenge miles, ensure Strava is set to 'Everyone' and select 'walk' as the activity otherwise the miles may not be logged on your fundraising page. We can then track your miles to show you have achieved your goal! 

 

For all other training or non-challenge walks set Strava to 'private'.

 

What if I can't or do not want to use Strava or want to use another device to track my distance?

If you are using a different measuring device please take a picture or a screenshot of your activity. Whilst you are logged into your fundraising page you can then add each of your walks as a manual activity to your page and add this photo to each activity, which will then be included in your total mileage. Click here for instructions for mobile upload or computer upload.

 

This must be received by 3rd June 2021

Once we have notification your challenge is completed we will send an online certificate and your well-deserved medal will follow in the post.

Proof of completing the May... Your Way! Challenge

Is there a deadline for giving in my proof of completion?

Yes. This date is the 3rd June 2021

 

What will happen if I don’t get my proof of completion to you in time?

We will send you an email to remind you a few days before the deadline to send in your proof of completion. If we do not receive this in time we will be unable to send you your medal.
