Get your fundraising growing for you

Whatever your talent, the best way to increase your fundraising is by offering something in return, everyone likes to get a little something for their money

Run out of ideas to fundraise? Here are a few quick and easy tips to help you, all you need to do is free up some time and the rest will fall into place!

Have a clear out...

First thing to do is sort out all of your unwanted things, have a big unclutter day, then you can upload the more valuable items on to Ebay and take the rest to a car boot sale. As the saying goes, one man’s junk is another man’s treasure, and in this case you could free up space in your wardrobe and house, plus raise the money you need for your challenge.

Get creative...

If you are one of those lucky people who can just make, bake or grow things, then you could use your talents to create amazing little crafts to sell. Perhaps baking is more your thing, a cake sale at work, school or even outside your favourite shops is a great way to increase your fundraising... after all, who doesn’t like cake?

Maybe you’re green fingered and can grow anything... so why not get some old jars and plant some herbs or little plants and sell them to friends and colleagues. Plants are good for the soul... especially after all that cake!?

Making jams and chutneys are also a very yummy way to get that fundraising in, plus you can experiment with lots of different fruits and vegetables.

Whatever your talent, the best way to increase your fundraising is by offering something in return, everyone likes to get a little something for their money. This makes fundraising fun and rewarding at the same time!

Give your time...

If you’ve run out of things to sell and are not very crafty, then another wonderful idea is to give up your time. Time is something we could all do with a little more of, so you could offer to water a neighbour’s plants, mow their lawn, or even help to declutter a friend’s house (for a small donation of course), you may even bag yourself some worthwhile raffle prizes.

Holding a collection pot day outside a shop or in the high street can often be a brilliant way to fundraise and raise awareness about Walk the Walk at the same time. Ask our fundraising team if you would like us to post out some leaflets and tell you more about the collection buckets and pots. Giving up your time is a wonderful way to help others and get those donations in, the feel good factor and a win win all round!

If you are still unsure about being able to reach the needed fundraising, need further advice or just want to chat through your ideas with someone, just call the fundraising team on 01483 741430, or drop us an email... we would love to hear from you.
