World Cancer Day 2025:

Charity Walk the Walk takes huge steps in the fight against cancer

This World Cancer Day (Tues 4th Feb), cancer charity Walk the Walk is celebrating the £143 million raised by more than half a million fundraisers, over the last 29 years!

Walk the Walk has a proven legacy of helping to fund life-changing research and support for those living with breast and other cancers. Recently, Walk the Walk has awarded more than £92,000 to Breast Cancer Now. The grant will help fund the charity’s “Healthcare Professionals Hub”, a supportive network for all healthcare professionals caring for breast cancer patients. The Hub provides:-

  • On demand webinars to help continued professional development
  • Opportunity to join specialist interest groups, including those for secondary breast cancer and breast screening
  • Monthly e-newsletters

Nurses like Suzannah already benefit from the Hub:- “I have been a breast clinical nurse specialist for over 20 years. The support I have received as a health care professional has been invaluable. The bulletins and healthcare professions forums have been particularly helpful”.
A legacy of almost three decades
Founded in 1996, Walk the Walk is best-known for it’s innovative “MoonWalk” overnight fundraising events, when thousands of participants wear brightly-coloured decorated bras. This year, Walk the Walk is inviting people of all ages and abilities to sign up for its flagship MoonWalk London and help it continue making a massive difference to those affected by cancer.
