Performers from Gandeys Circus uniting with Walk the Walk to help promote the circus-themed MoonWalk

  • What: Performers from Gandeys Circus uniting with Walk the Walk to help promote the circus-themed MoonWalk

  • Where: Gandeys Circus Big Top, Sighthill Park, Broomhouse Road, EH11 3UF
  • About: Gandeys will stage a mini performance for a group of MoonWalkers, hoping to get them into the ‘circus spirit’ and encourage others to sign-up for The MoonWalk Scotland. Ariel artist, Jacqui, has created a special bra which she will wear during her performance. This bra will then be presented to Walk the Walk for them to add to their special collection of decorated bras to help raise awareness of breast cancer.
  • Further information: On Saturday 8th June, thousands of women, men and children will walk a quarter, half, full or double marathon through the streets of Edinburgh at Midnight to raise money and awareness for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.

Interviews and photo opportunities include:

  • Acts from Gandeys Circus including Rolling Globe Performers, a Fire Breather, a Contortionist and Chico the Clown.
  • Women, men and children from across Scotland who are taking part in The MoonWalk Scotland 2019 including:

*Mags Doyle from Dunfermline. Power Walking has transformed Mags’ fitness and she has now completed a number of full and double distance Marathons.

*Ellie Wagstaff from Edinburgh. This year marks ten years since Ellie’s mum had the all-clear from breast cancer and Ellie is taking on a double-marathon distance, Over the Moon Ultra to mark this milestone. 

*Yvonne and Louise Clark from Dundee. A mother and daughter who are taking part with five other Walkers. Two years ago, Yvonne’s sister had breast cancer and last year Yvonne was diagnosed with breast cancer herself.

*Ian Mycko from Edinburgh. Ian has volunteered at every single MoonWalk Scotland since the event started in 2006 and is preparing for his 14th year!

*Sheona Wilson from Grangemouth. Sheona has also been involved in every MoonWalk Scotland. She volunteered in 2006 and has walked every year since. 

*Lynne Young, Stuart Young, Laura Young (15), Amy Young (12), Katie Kistruck (15) from Edinburgh. Lynne, Stuart and their daughters, plus family friend Katie are taking on the 6.55 mile New Moon! Lynne has done the Full Moon twice before.
