Find out how more does even more

Taking on a Walk the Walk Challenger is not only helping you to achieve a personal goal but, by also raising money, your fundraising is helping to find a cure for breast cancer and providing much needed emotional and physical support for those living with cancer.

So with your help, we can continue to make a difference...

£50 helps scientists grow and understand cancer cells. Breast cancer cells have to be grown in flasks in order for scientists to study and develop to know how to treat the disease. This could buy a box of 25 flasks so they can be studied to develop new treatments for this devastating disease.

£100 gives 65 chances for scientists to learn the role genes play in the progression of breast cancer. Genes behave differently, in different cancers. This money would pay for what scientists need to accurately measure the activity of specific genes in 65 samples of cancer cells, that helps identify which genes breast cancer relies on. For example, to spread cancer through the body, so that we can stop that from happening in the future.

Or £100 pays for up to 10 people to attend a two-hour Managing Stress session, exploring ways to relax and find calmness in day to day life whilst living with the challenges of cancer.

£300 pays for a Cancer Support Specialist to provide immediate advice and support for all visitors welcomed at a Centre each day.

£500 pays for two support group days specifically for those with secondary cancers.

£1,000 gives someone with cancer, and their loved one, a two-day residential retreat aimed at living well with cancer, the space and time to find practical ways to support (their mind, body, spirit and emotions) themselves, and each other. Cancer shouldn’t stand in the way of making life as good as it should be.

Or £1,000 helps to create treatments with fewer side effects and could supply the essential equipment required for identifying specific proteins in a cell that drive the growth of breast cancer. This will aid new and more targeted treatments to be developed with less devastating side effects for patients.

Or £1,000 provides enough funding to support a week of exercise and creative classes that help people build and maintain strength and confidence whilst living with cancer.

Taking on a Walk the Walk Challenge is not only helping you to achieve a personal goal but, by also raising money, your fundraising is helping to find a cure for breast cancer and providing much needed emotional and physical support for those living with cancer.

Thank you for uniting with Walk the Walk against breast cancer... together we can create a healthy future!
