"We have just completed a challenging yet rewarding half marathon to raise money for Walk the Walk. Despite being young teens, a group of us shared a common goal to raise awareness for this vital cause. Being a disease that affects 1 in 8 women, we felt determined to give back as part of NCS social action project.
Not only does this disease affect women but approximately 1 in 100 cases affect men with a higher mortality rate. Collectively we wanted to give back to our community and help towards a subject in which we feel passionate about.
On Tuesday the 26th July a group of 16 of us began our journey at Trinity Hall Guildford and ventured round Guildford campaigning to raise awareness and funds whilst completing our half marathon.
It is certainly an experience that will remain with us as we continue to spread awareness as we grow up. We hope to inspire other young people to take action for the most prevalent cancer in the world."
Sign up for The MoonWalk London 2023 LIVE or Virtual and raise money and awareness for breast and other cancers.
