From setting up your fundraising page to collecting donations and spreading the word, here are our top tips to help you get started and raise as much as you can for Walk the Walk.
1. Get your fundraising off to a great start
Make your page personal
First things first, activate and personalise your fundraising page! Add a photo, share why you’re taking part and tell people what supporting you means. Your story could be just the inspiration someone needs to donate.
Spread the word
Don’t be shy about sharing your fundraising page! Post the link on social media, pop it in your WhatsApp groups or send it to friends, family and colleagues. Keep supporters in the loop with updates about your training walks, fundraising activities and how you’re getting on. Every update is another opportunity to encourage a donation!
2. Make donating easy
The easier you make it for people to donate, the better. Here are a few ways to help those donations roll in.
Go contactless with CharityGo
Out and about collecting donations? The CharityGo app lets you take contactless donations straight to your fundraising page, with no card reader needed. Handy!
Get your QR code
Download your fundraising QR code from your fundraising page and share it far and wide. Add it to posters, collection tubs or social media posts so people can find your page and donate in just a few taps.
Give Gift Aid a mention
If your supporters are eligible UK taxpayers, Gift Aid can boost their donation by 25% at no extra cost to them. All they need to do is select Gift Aid and complete the declaration when donating.
That means a £20 donation could become £25 for Walk the Walk. Same donation from your supporter, extra funds to help us beat cancer one step at a time!

3. Need some fundraising extras?
We’ve got you covered! Whether you’re planning a bake sale, organising a fundraising event or collecting donations in your community, we have resources to help you along the way.
- Fundraising items: Get your hands on fundraising extras, including pin badges.
- Sponsor forms, leaflets and posters: Perfect for spreading the word and collecting sponsorship.
- Fundraising resources: Explore resources to help bring your fundraising plans to life, including collection tubs and banners.
Not sure what you need? Just ask us and we’ll help you find the right resources to get going.
4. Remember, you’re not doing this alone!
Fundraising might feel like a big challenge at first, but you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. Whether you need a hand setting up your page, want some fresh fundraising ideas or aren’t sure where to find the right resources, we’re here to help.
No question is too small, and we’d love to hear from you!
