While there’s no fundraising target for ballot place holders, every pound you choose to raise will help support people living with cancer. We’ll be with you every step of the way, offering fundraising advice, encouragement and a fantastic team to be part of on your marathon journey.

TCS London Marathon FAQs
The cut off time for this Marathon is 7 hours. With training and commitment this is certainly achievable and a largely flat course too. You should be aiming for 14-16 minute miles during your training to conquer the famous TCS London Marathon; this is very achievable by following Walk the Walk’s tried and tested step-by-step Training Plan. A 12 week Marathon training plan will be provided to you.
Is there a registration fee?
No. If you’ve secured your own ballot place, there is no registration fee to join Team Walk the Walk.
Do I have to fundraise?
There is no minimum fundraising target for ballot place holders, but we’d love you to raise as much as you can to help support people living with cancer. Whatever you raise will make a real difference, and our fundraising team will be on hand to support you every step of the way.
What do I receive when I join Team Walk the Walk?
As part of Team Walk the Walk you’ll receive:
- Walk the Walk Bra T-Shirt: once minimum of £150 fundraising achieved
- Decorate-your-own bra – what we’re famous for!
- Weather Protector
- Marathon Training Plan
- Marathon Day cheering squad (subject to minimum numbers)
- Fundraising advice and ongoing support throughout your marathon journey
Do I need to arrange my own travel?
Yes. You’ll need to book your own travel to and from London.
When will applications open?
Applications for our 2028 Charity Places aren’t open just yet. Pre-register your interest and we’ll let you know as soon as applications open, along with full details of the application process and key dates.
Is there a registration fee?
There is no registration fee for a Walk the Walk Charity Place.

The minimum fundraising target for 2028 has not been decided yet, but for guidance, the 2027 target was £2750. See below for more information how we can support you achieving this.

Do I need to arrange my own travel?

How much do I need to fundraise?
The fundraising commitment and milestone dates for our 2028 Charity Places will be confirmed when applications open. In the meantime, the information below is provided as a guide, based on our 2027 Charity Place requirements.
For 2027, we asked everyone with a Walk the Walk Charity Place to commit to raising a minimum of £2,750. As the fundraising target is significant, each participant received dedicated support from one of our experienced fundraising consultants every step of the way.
To help make the target more manageable, the fundraising was split into the following milestones:
- Personal fundraising consultation – July
- £520 – Monday 7 September 2026
- £520 – Monday 19 October 2026
- £520 – Monday 30 November 2026
- £520 – Monday 11 January 2027
- £335 – Monday 15 March 2027
- £335 – Monday 10 May 2027
- Final Fundraising – 31 May 2027
Please note: Failure to achieve any of these milestones, may result in your place being reviewed.
