Walkers were shaking their feathers grabbing the headlines and filling the radio waves and TV screens this year for The MoonWalk London 2017!
Across the country, radio stations including Magic, BBC Local Radio, BBC Radio 2, Heart, LBC and Radio Jackie, have been supporting and congratulating all of our fabulous Walkers in both the lead up to the event itself and in the days following! We even heard many of you chatting to radio presenters whilst doing your Training Walks, raising even more awareness of breast cancer and Walk the Walk.
ITV also covered The MoonWalk London across their regional channels, with Walkers becoming 1920s TV stars for the night! They spoke about why they were taking part in The MoonWalk, the electric atmosphere at the event, and what raising money and awareness for breast cancer means to them.
Harriet Thorpe, Walk the Walk’s Ambassador, was also seen giving a sneak peek of her bra decorated by the wardrobe department at Mamma Mia! on London Live, while talking about the importance of uniting together and making a difference.
Meanwhile, our Founder and Chief Executive, Nina Barough, was interviewed live for Sunrise on Sky News on Sunday morning, talking all things MoonWalk with Walkers crossing the Finish Line in the background - a wonderful sight!
And it didn’t stop there! MoonWalkers have created a flutter in their local papers up and down the country... bras and pink have certainly been taking over the North, South, East and West. It’s not too late to get in touch with your local press about your fantastic achievement either, and it’s wonderful to see MoonWalk stories still appearing on the newsstands!
We’ve created a template press release you can send out to your local papers. Simply fill in the gaps, and send it with a photo of you in your decorated bra or Walk the Walk T-shirt. Download it here.
Congratulations to all the Walkers and Volunteers who joined The MoonWalk London 2017 and celebrated our 20th year with us... thank you!
