Our Founder, Nina Barough CBE, has attended a special event at Westminster Abbey, to celebrate the publication of a new History of Parliament Trust book – “Monarchy and Democracy: A History of Leadership”.
As an official partner of the project, Walk the Walk was honoured to be featured alongside other charities in this prestigious publication, which highlights organisations who have played a role in shaping and supporting public life in the UK.
The History of Parliament Trust leads one of the UK’s most respected research projects, compiling the authoritative history of Parliament through biographies of MPs, constituency histories and studies of the institutions which have helped shape British democracy.
For Walk the Walk, being included in this new book is a wonderful recognition of nearly three decades of campaigning, fundraising and raising awareness around cancer prevention, early detection, research and support.

Since the first MoonWalk took place in 1998, Walk the Walk has raised more than £148 million for cancer causes, while helping thousands of people understand the importance of healthy lifestyles, physical activity and early diagnosis.
This week’s launch event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the people and organisations featured in the book who are making a difference across the UK, as well as to reflect on the power of collaboration, campaigning and community action.
We would like to thank The History of Parliament Trust and publisher St James’s House for including Walk the Walk in this landmark book.

Here’s to continuing our mission and creating even more impact together in the years ahead!
