Important information about the MoonWalk London 2020

The safety of our Walkers, Supporters, Volunteers and Staff is absolutely paramount and taking all the current circumstances into consideration, we feel that it is wiser to postpone the MoonWalk London to Spring 2021.

We have all spent months patiently waiting for government guidelines to find out when and if the MoonWalk London could take place. This has not occurred. So, In fairness to all those taking part and the need to train and prepare for the event, we have arrived at what is a very difficult decision, that the MoonWalk London will not take place as we had hoped in September 2020

The Walk the Walk Team have worked incredibly hard with our health and safety to explore every possibility in order to find ways to make it all happen. However, the safety of our Walkers, Supporters, Volunteers and Staff is absolutely paramount and taking all the current circumstances into consideration, we feel that it is wiser to postpone the MoonWalk London to Spring 2021 (date tbc).

We know that whilst you will be as disappointed as we are, you will understand our reasons for the decision which will only make the coming together, stronger and sweeter than ever!

We know you will be asking "what happens next?" If we could ask for just a little more patience, we will be back in touch with all your options on or before the 17th July 2020.

The impact of this decision means Walk the Walk will lose over £5 million, almost all of our annual fundraising. Meanwhile, UK charities working on the front line of cancer and struggling to survive these challenging times, are not receiving necessary funding. Walk the Walk are making Emergency Grants of up to £20,000 a month to help support charities throughout the rest of the year, so they can keep providing services. We need your support now more than ever. Nothing must stop us uniting together against breast and other cancers… cancer doesn’t stop and neither will we!

Finally, we wanted to end on a positive note and share some exciting news… we will shortly be launching The Virtual SunWalk Festival, another new and very exciting Challenge from Walk the Walk… Watch this space... you’re going to love it!

Thank you so much for your patience, loyalty and support in our fight against breast cancer, we couldn’t do it without you.

Until we hold our hands together again… Big virtual hugs to you from all at Walk the Walk.

Nina
