Happy Mother’s Day…
Buddies who I’ve met since I first aired my request for someone to walk and train with via Walking Pals, back in 2005 and every year since. Yep, 2015 and I’m still walking and more importantly talking!
If you or someone you know has any symptoms that might be linked to breast or other cancers, don’t wait, visit your doctor now!

Mother’s Day is a wonderful day for all mums but it’s not just one day out of 365, its every day. Lets also remember those mums who live in distant lands and who are no longer here – if only heaven was on FaceTime/Skype.
For this Muvver it will be a training walk in the morning as I’m lined up for both London and Edinburgh, hopefully with a couple of my walking buddies. Never did I realise what friendships would be made and cemented within the Bedford area. To date I think there have been approximately 40 walkers. But am proud to say in Bedford we’ve had people go to Dublin (2008), Iceland, Arctic, Inca Trail in addition to London, Edinburgh and SunWalk.
My most embarrassing training walk was taking 20 people down to London to walk 18 miles along the Regents Canal. Two miles in, I slipped, broke my wrist in 3 places and ended up in hospital having surgery! Still the pink plaster cast was very fitting!
The Forum has also been prominent in my WTW family … friendships have been born, thrive, annual meet ups at non-WTW events especially the yearly Forum meet where some pictures reveal too much information!
For this Muvver, I’m so lucky to have the support of my immediate family. Many of you know Sara, who did her first London MoonWalk in 2002, and to date between us two we have approximately 40 official WTW medals!
Daughter Clare has also walked at London and SunWalk but prefers to assist Farver, as his co-driver in one of the BraCars at London MoonWalk. Farver also drives at SunWalk … this Muvver is proud of the whole family’s involvement with such a fantastic Charity.
But its why we walk …
Muvver x
