February Fundraising for Charity ideas

Make raising money and awareness for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk fun, and check out our February fundraising ideas!

As February flits into 2022, and the shy snowdrops start adorning our grassy banks and woodlands, check out our top tips for kicking that fundraising into touch, while still keeping safe!

Valentines Ready

It’s not long until Valentine’s Day! This is a great time to create a little hamper of chocolates and a bottle of Fizz to raffle off at work, either in person or using social media for those of you working from home. All you need are some scrummy chocolates, some red ribbon, a bottle of pink fizz, put it all together in some red cellophane with a big bow and you’re ready. If you are feeling creative, you could even make your own heart chocolates! Of course, you may have to try them before you put them in the box, just don’t eat them all!

Want to support Walk the Walk but can’t take on a walking challenge?

Thank you so much for supporting us! Just get in touch with [email protected] or call 01483 741430 and one of the team will be happy to help you. You can set up a My Challenge fundraising page here or see some of the resources we have to help here. We can help with ideas on what to do, advice on how to organise a fundraiser, and guidance on any legal aspect.  We are here to help!

Declutter for Spring!

If you didn’t clear out all your ‘junk’ during lockdown, now’s your chance! After you've had that big early spring clean you can gather all those unused and once loved gifts, clothes, toys, books, DVDs... Sell them on Ebay, Vinted and Facebook Marketplace, or maybe you have a local website or car boot sale. It’s a great way to de-clutter your house and boost your fundraising total!

Dog Walking

As you head off on your daily exercise or training walks, why not offer your services to your dog owning friends and neighbours then head on out for Walkies! They will be sure to make a donation - the perfect way to raise money and increase training miles at the same time.

Pancake Flipping Competition - virtual or otherwise!

Who doesn’t love a pancake and 1st March is Shrove Tuesday! Organise a pancake flipping contest to be held live or via Zoom! If it’s live you can challenge other departments at work, other classes at school or just hold it in your street or neighbourhood, charging an entry fee of course!  Make the pancakes in advance – make the thicker American style ones, and see who can flip the pancake the most times before they drop them or the pancake falls apart!

Or, if you prefer to do it from the comfort of your own home, invite your friends to join you via Zoom, charge them an attendance fee payable via your fundraising page. The guests then take turns to see how many flips they can do with a pancake before they drop it on the floor! You could also see who can toss theirs the highest!

Afterwards, take your spare ones, add a tasty topping, and tuck in! You could also see who can create the most divine filling. Mmm, what’s not to like?

P.S. Don’t forget to have a raffle too!

Charity of the Year

Could you nominate Walk the Walk as your company or organisation's Charity of the Year... meaning that any money raised for charity throughout the year could be donated to Walk the Walk? This is a great way to raise awareness of the importance of checking your breasts and raising some much needed cash!

Walk the Walk bracelets

Want something different to sell to help boost your fundraising coffers?  Check out our pretty bracelets as a way to raise money! Costing you less than a pound each, you can ask for minimum donations of £2, and many people will give you more.
