Get in touch with your local press and help spread the word about charity marathon, The MoonWalk London! Unite with WTW and raise breast cancer awareness

As your excitement builds ahead of The MoonWalk London and The MoonWalk Scotland, it's the perfect time to get in touch with your local press to tell them all about your fantastic challenge!

Just imagine a sea of pinkness and bras taking over newspaper front pages up and down the UK!

Getting publicity is a great way to encourage people to sponsor you. It helps to raise awareness of breast cancer and highlights where Walk the Walk grants the money YOU raise.

Here is a press release template for you to download for The MoonWalk London and The MoonWalk Scotland …. just fill in the gaps.

Stories are much more likely to be published if you send them out with a photograph, so we recommend you proudly wear your Walk the Walk t-shirt or decorated bra and cowboy hat/cap. Team your outfit with some black trousers, and strike a pose!

Here are some of our favourite photo tips:-

  • Take your photo outside if you can, just before you set off for during a training walk
  • Send your photo(s) as an attachment, rather than in the body of the email.
  • If you’re using your phone camera, send the biggest size file possible (at least 1MB).
  • Avoid filters for the photos you are sending to press
  • Photos pulled from Facebook, Snapchat, or Instagram are often poor quality

It is fantastic that some of you have already been in touch with your local press and are helping to spread the word about the MoonWalks!
