December Fundraising Ideas

Christmas is the Time for Giving... there will never be a better time to fundraise than December!

When the carols are playing; the bells, and tills, are ringing; the log fires are crackling and people are buying gifts and planning their festive fayre, they are also very generous when it comes to donating to charity. So, get your Christmas fundraisers sorted and watch as your fundraising hits the heights!

Save money and time on cards

It can take up lots of precious time writing out cards for everyone in the office, in the choir, at the running club or whatever club you are a member of, so, buy one large card and get everyone to sign it – once.  Then donate the savings from buying cards to charity – mmm, I vote Walk the Walk!

This helps the environment, time, and most importantly, people living with breast cancer!

Send an online Christmas Card

Somehow Christmas creeps up on me every year and I run out of time to write and post lots of Christmas cards. So why not send one of our specially designed online Christmas cards through DontSendMeACard and save time, money and the planet! Donate those savings you have made onto your online fundraising page! Follow this link here to choose your cards! You can even choose your card and schedule it to be sent at a later date!

Christmas Hamper Raffle

This is a great one for the workplace. Ask everyone to bring in donations of Christmas goodies, and then arrange them prettily in a huge basket, and decorate them with cellophane and ribbon. Then sell raffle tickets for the hamper to the same people and anyone who wants the chance of winning a scrumptious hamper! And don’t undersell, if it’s a really, great hamper, sell the tickets for a minimum of £5! What’s not to like?

Who doesn’t love a mince pie?

There are heaps of things to do with mince pies! Make some scrummy ones and sell them at work or school, or on a table outside your house to the passers-by! You can also have a Bake off competition with a local celeb doing the judging (like the school domestic science teacher, or the WI Chairwoman for example). Charge to enter and sell mince pies on the side. And why not have a ‘decorate a mince pie table’ at your local Christmas fair? Get some edible decorations, writing icing, and holly – the choice is yours, and charge £2 or so to decorate a mince pie that they can then take away and eat!

Mulled wine and mince pies

Perfect for those dark winter evenings, or for the week between Christmas and New Year. Invite your friends, family, neighbours and whoever else for a lovely warming mulled wine and mince pies. Charge an all-inclusive price and have other nibbles that they can purchase. Plus the raffle, of course!

Give it up for January

Yes, with the season of excess behind you, what can you give up for January? Booze, sweets, dare I say chocolate, carbohydrates, sugar, cakes, biscuits, talking, singing, dancing... the choice is yours! Get your friends to sponsor your abstinence (going without!) and then make sure you keep it up! Good for the figure as well as the fundraising!

Merry Christmas!
