Walk the Walk is delighted to be the 2018 Charity Partner for the #walk1000miles challenge, organised by our friends at Country Walking Magazine.
The challenge does exactly what it says on the tin - it’s a free, honesty-based, fun challenge, encouraging you to walk a total of 1000 miles in 2018... that’s 2.74 miles a day!
Maybe you’ve already signed up for The MoonWalk London or The MoonWalk Scotland and need an extra incentive to get walking right from January 1st – and to keep going once you’ve completed your MoonWalk Challenge.
You might be taking on our 3 Land Challenge, or one of the Ultra events - The Thames Path Challenge, London to Brighton, or our very own Over The Moon at The MoonWalk Scotland.
You’ll be ramping up the miles and that amazing target of reaching 1,000 in just one calendar year... could be very attainable!
Nina met Guy Procter, editor of Country Walking Magazine, recently and they chatted about their love of walking.
Nina says: “For me, walking is just a magical way of keeping balance, fitness and health at the core of all that I do. After just a few minutes of walking, I start to feel my shoulders relax, my chest opens, my mind begins to clear, my breath deepens and my lungs fill with air. I would encourage everyone to find this freedom by just stepping out of their door and starting walking. Just like the organisers of #walk1000miles, Walk the Walk is passionate about walking and the astounding number of benefits which come with it, not least of all, boosting the immune system to help prevent disease. Sign up for a MoonWalk, register for #walk1000miles, and just get walking… A daily walk will have a huge impact on your health, fitness and quality of life… you will never look back!’”
