Breast cancer charity Walk the Walk celebrates the first LIVE MoonWalk Scotland since 2019

  • What: The MoonWalk Scotland 2022
  • When: Saturday 11th June (9pm) to Sunday 12th June (1pm)
  • Where: Holyrood Park, Edinburgh
  • The 15th MoonWalk Scotland – Edinburgh’s first LIVE MoonWalk since 2019
  • Organised by breast cancer charity Walk the Walk
  • Women and men wearing brightly decorated bras walking overnight
  • All MoonWalkers are uniting to raise money to support those living with cancer
  • During the pandemic Walk the Walk made a £20,000 grant to the charity Cancer Support Scotland to fund its online support services
  • Previous grants have been made to the Maggie’s Centres in Glasgow, Forth Valley and Airdrie and to the Breast Cancer Unit at Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital for a new operating theatre and to renovate its mammography unit and breast cancer ward
  • Walk the Walk has also funded 57 Scalp Coolers in 26 Scottish hospitals – these are special machines which help many people undergoing chemotherapy to keep their hair
  • Challenges: Half Moon (13.1 miles), Full Moon (26.2 miles) and Over The Moon (52.4 miles)
