Summer Fundraising Ideas for 2018!

Make raising money for Walk the Walk fun by doing something you love!

Summer is here and it’s the perfect time to have some ‘fun in the sun’ whilst fundraising! Take advantage of the balmy weather and longer days... check out some sizzling summer fundraising ideas below. 

• Summer BBQ - It's prime BBQ season... simply invite some friends around for a BBQ, however, on this occasion, charge them £5-£10 a head to put in your fundraising pot! 

• Car wash - Offer to wash work colleagues’, friends’ and family members’ cars for a minimum donation... get your bra T-Shirt or decorated bra on! How can they refuse!?
• Summer Fete - Perfect on a sunny summer afternoon... bake some cakes, make some jam, create homemade crafts and your stall is on to a winner. Don’t forget Walk the Walk bra pins, collection tubs, balloons and banner – all available from our WalkWear Shop.
  
• Face Painting - Offer face painting at your local fete or village fair - get creative and ask for donations for your fabulous face paint masterpieces! Raise money and raise awareness.

• Mini Festival - Grab some friends, any local bands you know (or a loud stereo) and charge for entry and drinks!
• Lawn Mowing - Offer to mow work colleagues’, friends’, neighbours’ and family members’ lawns for a fee/donation.
• Garden Sports Day - Let your competitive side come out as you race against your friends! Have a fixed prize for the winner and charge an entry fee! Tug of war, egg & spoon, etc.

• Teddy Bear’s Picnic - A great fundraiser if you have children! Organise a picnic in the park for families, ask the children (and the parents!) to bring their favourite teddy bear and charge a small fee to come along.
• Beach Sports - Find some willing friends to team up and play against each other! Each person could pay a £1 or 2 to take part and perhaps it might even become a weekly summer fixture?
• Dog Walking – Offer your services to your dog loving friends and neighbours in return for a top up to your fundraising total.

• Picnic Hamper - Make up a pink hamper (ask people to donate items) and then raffle it off at work or at your fundraising event.
• Pub Board Game Evening - Gather a group of friends together at your local pub (please gain permission first!) and take your favourite board games. Charge £1 or £2 per player per game. The overall winner at the end of the evening could get a bottle of wine or similar prize... your friendly local may event offer to donate a prize! 
• Fresh Homemade Lemonade - Ask family, friends, neighbours and work mates for a donation in exchange for a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade on a hot day!
  
• Treasure Hunt - This one doesn’t just have to be for children- it’s a great one for the big kids too! Spend some time creating your clues and charge your friends/family to hunt the ‘treasure’!
• Yogathon - Great for the supple ones amongst you... all you need is some eager participants and an instructor willing to donate his/her time to support vital breast cancer causes.
• Zumbathon - Do you love a good dance? If so, this is a great fundraiser for you! Organise a Zumba session... approach some instructors to donate their time, hire a hall, charge an entry fee and let the party begin! If you still have the energy, why not throw in a raffle too?
