It’s not too late to organise a Bonfire Night fundraiser... Invite a few friends round to yours for hot soup and sparklers to get your fundraiser off to a twinkling start! If you’re into cooking, you can’t go wrong with a classic jacket potato and baked beans or curry if it’s Diwali! Request that everyone brings some fireworks and get a responsible person to take charge of them. Ask for donations for the refreshments and devise a few games for the children!
If it’s a Diwali celebration, then make sure you have lots of lights!
It really is that easy! Whenever you shop online use the handy donation reminder that tells you when a retailer is signed up and you can raise funds for Walk the Walk that cost you nothing! There are over 7,000 retailers including M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, John Lewis, Etsy, Just Eat and many others. With Christmas coming up now is the time for giving!
So far, £911 has been raised for Walk the Walk this way! You can also win fantastic prizes with one of their many promotions!

Autumn coming to an end can only mean one thing... Christmas is creeping up on us! Crack on with 2024’s fundraising by inviting friends and neighbours round for a get together as you do your Christmas shopping in front of the fire! There are many companies who sell their goods via 'party plan' like the Tupperware parties of old. Jump on board yourself and become an agent or invite a local representative to your home for commission.
Of course, if you make any sort of craft, this is an opportunity to sell your stuff too! And don’t forget to have a raffle and ask for donations for any refreshments you serve!

Light the fire, crack the fizz and bring out the board games! Invite your friends round for a cosy night in building hotels, deciding whodunnit or thinking of as many words as possible! Charge an entrance fee and have extras on the side to help boost your fundraising!
Lockdown showed us that we don’t need to hire an expensive hall to raise money hosting a quiz! Quizzes are still a firm favourite for a fun activity, so jump on the bandwagon and arrange one either online or hire a hall in the traditional way. Don’t forget to ask for a charity rate and maximise the event by having little extras to push your fundraising even further! You could also ask your local pub if they will support you with their quiz, or let you use the pub free of charge. To help get you started, we have some quiz questions available for you to use! Just email us at [email protected]
Auctions are a great way to raise money but you do need some nice prizes. These can be physical items such as Christmas hampers, or experiences like dinner out at a local restaurant (speak to local suppliers for prizes). People could also donate their time or make a 'promise' for a gift. Previous prizes have been cooking for a dinner party, painting a fence, loaning their canal barge for a weekend and writing a CV! Make up lovely bundles that people will want to bid on and run the auction for a week updating all the bidders as you go. Watch out though, it can get very competitive! Use this month’s special days to organise a unique fundraiser! There’s British Pudding Day on 9th November, (need we say more? What’s not to like!), Zinfandel Day on November 15th (a bit of a no brainer!), National Gingerbread Day on November 21st (loads of possibilities), Thanksgiving from 23rd to 24th November (sounds yummy!), and Odd Socks Day on the 13th November… Hmm we'll leave it up to you on how to find a use for that one!
If you have a fundraising event or activity planned, take a look at our extra bits and pieces to help you.
