My mum was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer 4 years ago... My mum has always been my hero, but her strength over the last four years has astonished us and inspired us all.

“My mum was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my second child, who I feared she might not meet. She continues to battle this disease every day and faces pain and disability with so much courage, grace and motivation to live her life. She not only saw the birth of my second daughter (who is named after her), but has also welcomed a third grand-daughter, supported our family as we home-schooled during Covid and even came tobogganing in Lapland this year. My mum has always been my hero, but her strength over the last four years has astonished us and inspired us all. I will be 40 in May this year - anything I have ever achieved I owe to my parents. I want to celebrate this milestone by honouring my mum and the many women like her, and by helping to raise money to combat this disease".
