Think of Wimbledon and you think of strawberries and cream! Invite your pals around for a Wimbledon themed afternoon – everyone to wear white or their tennis gear – and, if your garden is big enough, erect a net for a mini tournament. Or, take a screen outside to watch all the action as it unfolds! Naturally, serve yummy strawberries and cream with fruit bedecked glasses of Pimms! Charge a donation, and have a raffle to raise even more funds!
Take a leaf out of the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition and organise one of your own! Invite your artistic friends to display their work and invite others to come and view! They can vote for the best one with a prize for the winner. Serve some summer fizz and everyone pays to come! Of course, if a painting is sold, you can claim some commission!
You can use this footie competition to run a sweepstake, always a fun way to have fun and raise funds. Sell ‘teams’ to your workmates or club – it works whether you work together remotely or otherwise!
If you have a lovely garden, or know someone who does, why not have an Open day? Rope in a few volunteers and charge a few pounds to enter; make more money by providing refreshments and selling plant cuttings! Promote your Open Garden event on local websites and facebook community pages.
Going on holiday but fundraising for an Autumn event? Include the link to your fundraising page in your bounce back message – it’s a great indirect way of asking for donations from anyone sending you an email!
If you work in an environment where the language can get a bit fruity, or are a regular at a pub with an accommodating landlord, introduce a Swear Jar. If everyone pops in a pound each time they slip, you could be the only person in the place positively welcoming bad language!
If you have a fundraising event or activity planned, take a look at our extra bits and pieces to help you... if we can help in any way, please do get in touch!
