Frequently asked questions about postponed challenges

As you will appreciate these are very challenging and unprecedented times, and like everyone whilst we are trying to plan how to go forward... but the safety of all our Staff, Volunteers, Supporters and Walkers is paramount and cannot be compromised.

We are all incredibly sad that The MoonWalk London and The MoonWalk Scotland are having to be postponed, and obviously concerned about the impact that this will have on our benefiting charities. Whilst we work through all of this, we thank you for your patience, and hope that some of your questions may be answered below…

The MoonWalks...

Q. What are the new dates for The MoonWalk London and The MoonWalk Scotland?

A. The MoonWalk London -  Spring 2021 (date tbc) - we will be back in touch with all your options on or before the 17th July 2020.

The MoonWalk Scotland - update will be sent on the 15th July.

Q. Can we hold our own MoonWalk or Walk on the original date but in our own area?

A. Unfortunately not, for 2 very good reasons.

Firstly, we feel that whilst it is important that we all get out for a walk each day, it would be ethically wrong to even suggest that anyone should step outside and walk a marathon at this time either on their own or with family members… enough said on that!

Secondly, The MoonWalk is a trademarked event, it cannot be held by anyone other than Walk the Walk. These are difficult times that none of us have experienced before, so we thank you so much for your wonderful enthusiasm and energy to keep on walking and fundraising! The Team at Walk the Walk are working on a variety of plans to bring you some exciting alternative options and hopefully our MoonWalks later in the year.

Fundraising...

Q. What happens to Sponsor money already raised?

A. The sponsorship money you have already raised online has already been transferred to Walk the Walk. Find out about where the money goes here.

The fundraising you have raised will rollover with your entry to the new date when that is released.

Q. Can my Sponsor money be transferred to the new date?

A. Yes. The sponsorship money you have raised for The MoonWalk London and The MoonWalk Scotland 2020 will be rolled over to the new dates.

Q. I have sponsors who want a refund as the event is postponed, how can I refund them?

A. We know that these are troublesome times but our benefiting charities and those working with cancer patients, now more than ever, need our support... so please continue to help us unite against breast cancer as much as possible. Rest assured, The MoonWalk London and The MoonWalk Scotland are still going ahead... just later than planned!... so please reassure your sponsors that their sponsorship will still be very much appreciated and you WILL Walk the Walk! However, if it is necessary, you can find out more about refunding sponsorship money here.

Event entry refunds...

The MoonWalk London has been postponed to May 2021 and we will be back in touch with all your options on or before the 17th July 2020. The events will be rolled forward. Currently, we have a potential date in September for The MoonWalk Scotland and will update you on or before the 15th July 2020.

Event Packs...

Q. Will I receive my Event Pack?

A. YES, Yes... Yes! We will be in touch about your pack as soon as we are able to finalise everything.

Q. Will the themes change?

A. No! We love this year’s themes so for The MoonWalk London we will still be going 'Out of this World', and the theme for The MoonWalk Scotland will be 'Music'... so don't worry if you've already started planning your bras or accessories!

Plus, don’t forget in Scotland we will still be looking for our ‘Stars on Stage’ and opportunity for performers, singers, choirs to entertain to a large MoonWalk audience, visit the page to find out more

Unique Challenges...

Walk the Walk are working closely with our Operators in the UK and overseas, taking into account all available government advice as well as that from the World Health Organisation. The advice and information is changing daily, but we will keep all of our Walkers as up to date as possible. If you have any questions please contact the Unique Challenge Team directly.

Keep an eye out on our social media, website and emails and we’ll update you all as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience and bearing with us in these difficult times. If you have any other questions that are not answered above, please email [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as we possibly can!

If you are out Walking the Walk... please make sure you are following Government guidelines and keeping safe... even though we are ‘Social Distancing’ walking is important for not only getting out into the fresh air, being physically active, but also for our overall emotional well-being.

Stay safe, your Walk the Walk family are not far away!
