2019 Autumn Fundraising Ideas

Make raising money for Walk the Walk fun by doing something you love this autumn!

Autumn is here and with it comes thoughts of colourful autumn leaves, Halloween, Guy Fawkes and cosy evenings keeping warm! Make the most of what the season has to offer and check out some of our favourite autumn fundraising ideas below!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Let’s all come together to spread the word this October and continue to make a difference. For more information on breast health, supporting Walk the Walk and how you can make a difference this Breast Cancer Awareness Month take a look here… together, we can create a healthy future!

Halloween Party
Get your friends and family together for a 'spooktacular' party... everybody loves to dress up for Halloween... so why not offer a prize for the most 'frightful' costume of the evening. Autumn is pumpkin season... so why not get creative and have a pumpkin carving contest? Help your fundraising budget by asking your local grocery store for pumpkin donations!

Another way to have fun and raise money at your Halloween party would be to have Apple Bobbing games… you don’t have to be a child to enjoy this fun game but it helps! Get a bucket and float some apples in it, and ask your friends for a donation to have a go! Mark one or more of the apples to qualify for a small prize... perhaps a toffee apple, candyfloss or a warming glass of spiced punch.

Scary Film Night!
Sit back on the sofa, put your feet up and turn your movie night into a fundraiser! A great laid back way to fundraise... simply supply the drinks and popcorn, download a suitably scary movie... and ask your friends for a donation to come and watch your special spooky screening!

Conker Tournament
Revisit your childhood by holding a conker tournament! Charge for entry and award a prize for the winner. For an added fundraising boost, hold a sweepstake to guess how long it takes the first conker to get destroyed... fundraise and enjoy some good old fashioned fun!

Soup Lunch Fundraiser
Cook up a large batch of soup and take it into work! Encourage those that normally pop out and buy lunch (and even those that don’t!) to save money and donate to a worthy cause - charge just £2-£3 per bowl - it's a win, win!

Treasure Hunt
This one doesn’t just have to be for children… it’s a great one for the 'young at heart' too! Simply create some clues and charge your friends and family to hunt the ‘treasure’ and let the fun unfold!

Leaf Clearing
Ask friends, family and neighbours if they need their gardens and pathways cleared of autumn leaves... in return for a donation to your fundraising, of course!

Trick or Treating
Instead of asking for sweets why not ask for donations instead? It's a perfect opportunity to explain face to face exactly why you’re fundraising... who knows, you might even encourage someone else to take on an incredible challenge… it could be the start of a beautiful Walk the Walk friendship!

Bonfire Night
Remember, remember the 5th of November... invite people round for fireworks and sparklers in the garden... charge for entry, serve jacket potatoes with chilli (which are cheap and simple to do in bulk!)... then step back and watch the night go with a BANG!

If you have a fundraising event or activity planned, take a look at our extra bits and pieces to help you... if we can help in any way, please do get in touch.

And don’t forget… we’d love to hear all about your unique Fundraising ideas so we can help inspire others! Share your Fundraising events and activities on WTW’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, comment below or email the Fundraising Team directly.
