National Walking Day, 2 April

MoonWalk charity launches brand new 5K ZOOM Walk Scotland!  

  • Ahead of National Walking Day on Wednesday 2nd April, cancer charity Walk the Walk is excited to launch its brand new 5K ZOOM Walk Scotland!
  • The challenge is taking place for the first time at Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on the morning of Saturday 6th September
  • Everyone is welcome – walkers of all ages and fitness abilities can take part
  • This fantastic, fun community fundraising walk is a sister event to the charity’s iconic overnight MoonWalk Scotland, which takes place overnight later the same day
  • A special route 5K route has been created around Holyrood Park, with entertainment and support provided along the way
  • Walkers receive a 5K ZOOM cap, plus refreshments and a medal at the end of the challenge
  • Boost your fitness and raise money for a great cause, all in just a couple of hours
  • Sign up solo or with friends, family, colleagues, sports team or community group

The 5K ZOOM Walk Scotland 2025

  • Gates open 10.15am, Saturday 6th September 2025, Holyrood Park, Edinburgh
  • Open to all ages and fitness levels
  • Entry fee:  £19.99 for adults.  £12 for under 16’s
  • Entry fee includes a Walker Number, medal, 5K ZOOM cap, hot drink and muffin at end of event, plus fundraising support
  • Minimum fundraising: £30

The MoonWalk Scotland 2025

  • Midnight, Saturday 6th September 2025, starting from Holyrood Park, Edinburgh
  • Women and men wearing decorated bras and brightly coloured bra t-shirts, raising money and awareness for breast and other cancers
  • Challenges: Full Moon (26.2 miles) or Half Moon (15.1 miles)

Walk the Walk

  • Walk the Walk is a cancer charity, which is passionate about encouraging women and men to become fitter and healthier and to take control of their own well-being
  • The charity is best known as the organiser of its flagship overnight MoonWalk fundraising events in London, Scotland and Iceland
