Camino Journey to the Edge of the World Itinerary
The below information is for the 2024 challenge... details for 2025 coming soon!
The challenge:
Journey to the Edge of the World – 75 miles in 3 days
Day 1 – Thursday 26th September: Arrival in Spain and transfer to Santiago de Compostela
We highly recommend organising your flight to Santiago de Compostela Airport. The cost of the flights is not included in the cost of the Tour, however, the transfer from this Airport to our Hotel in Santiago is included (please note this is a set time). The meeting time will be confirmed.
There may be some free time to explore a little of the city before meeting the rest of the team and your guide for dinner, where you can all discuss the plans for the next few days and find out what the challenge has in store.
Included: Dinner
Day 2 – Friday 27th September: Santiago – Sta. Mariňa de Maroňas – 43km / 26.7 miles
From the centre of the bustling city, you will begin your walk from Santiago Cathedral towards Finisterre and the Atlantic Ocean. The journey starts by heading into the beautiful rural areas of Galicia, passing through woodland and pastures onto Ponte Maceira which some say is one of the prettiest spots on any Camino.
Included: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 3 – Saturday 28th September: Sta. Mariňa de Maroňas – Muxia – 45.3km / 28.1 miles
Continuing, our challenge goes through varied landscapes with tiny hamlets and villages. Whilst over the past years little cafes and hotels have sprung up as the popularity of the Camino has grown, this route is much less travelled. After Olveiroa, the Camino splits one way to Finisterre and the other which we follow to Muxia where for the first time you will catch a glimpse of the beautiful ocean.
Included: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 4 – Sunday 29th September: Muxia to Finisterre – 32.4km / 20.2 miles
Our 3rd and last stage of the journey as we walk towards Cape Finisterre and our destination, the lighthouse!
Following a celebration drink in the lighthouse, we will then transfer by taxi to our hotel in Finisterre, where we will later gather for a celebration meal in a local restaurant before we say goodbye to our guide.
Included: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 5 – Monday 30th September: Transfer to Santiago de Compostela
After a few hours in the morning when you are free to explore Finisterre, the team will then transfer to Santiago to spend the rest of the day enjoying free time in the city and all it has to offer.
Included: Breakfast & Dinner
Day 6 – Tuesday 1st October: Returning home.
There will be one private transfer to the airport - time to be confirmed.
