Lopa Patel from North West London volunteers at The MoonWalk London, in memory of her mum, who died from breast cancer when Lopa was just five years old.
“My mum’s death didn’t really hit me until I was well into my twenties and since then, I walked The MoonWalk in 2014 and volunteered twice, in 2015 and 2024. I’m raring to go for volunteering in 2025 too! Every penny which Walk the Walk raises means that others won’t lose their loved ones as early as I did. If you’re unable to take on a physical challenge yourself, volunteering is an amazing way of taking part. I know from my own experience how much walkers appreciate a smiling, caring and encouraging face when they are struggling themselves”.
Register now as a volunteer for The MoonWalk London on Sat 17th May and The MoonWalk Scotland on Sat 6th Sept at www.walkthewalk.org/volunteer
