The 104th Nijmegen 4 Day Marches is the largest walking event in the World, with an astounding 47,000 participants. People from many countries come to walk in and around the city and through the surrounding towns and villages. The support is incredible... thousands of spectators are cheering you on every day to the finish where you will receive a well-deserved Royally acclaimed Four Days Nijmegen Cross medal.

We have taken part in this event for the last 15 years and we know exactly how to help you complete your goal! This is the ultimate Team challenge… we start together, walk, sing, laugh, cheer, dance and most importantly finish together.

Training for The Nijmegen Marches

It's a long way but don't worry we have you covered! Walk the Walk has been training teams for the last 15 years so we know exactly what you have to do!

14 week Training Plan will be sent out with your Walker Pack. For this challenge you will need to commit to training; it can be intense and has many consecutive training walks, so is time consuming. The Training Plan is like this so that your body is prepared to walk the 40km distances over the 4 consecutive days. Alongside this, we also recommend taking part in other exercises such as swimming or pilates to increase your overall level of fitness. The training takes place over 6 days per week with a total of over 500 miles covered.

The route is generally tarmac through towns and villages, with some small parts off road, on footpaths and trails. The weather in Nijmegen is generally dry and can get hot, however rain does fall!

Conquering the Nijmegen Marches is not for the faint-hearted and will require commitment, both to training and the Team as a whole... however, it is an amazing achievement and one you will never forget!
