Roles available include supporting in these areas:

Janet (Pr & Communications)

I have volunteered at both the events and in the office for many years now. However, whilst I am in the office I look after the press cuttings for the charity, and I am regularly helping to promote the charity by sending out promotional materials. It can get very busy before The MoonWalks, with passes to be written, filing to be done and packs to be sent out, we all get involved in everything. No matter what job we are given in the office or at the events, volunteers are made to feel very welcome and we really feel an important part of the team.

Lesley (Events)

The Events team is one of the most exciting teams to be a part of, especially as the event season is all year round! The roles can vary from supporting the team with The MoonWalks to supporting the girls in Unique Challenges with some of the over seas challenges. There is never a dull moment with jobs such as packing and sending the final packs for those taking on The Arctic Marathon and The MoonWalk Iceland. As The MoonWalks approach there is always many other  jobs to be done too! It’s great to be involved in all the excitement.

Carol (Volunteer Recruitment)

I love volunteering at Walk the Walk – the team are great fun and really make my one day a week at the offices enjoyable. The jobs that I do are varied but I really enjoy when I am asked to help out Volunteer recruitment – I love speaking to the regular Volunteers on the phone, and encouraging new ones to sign up! I also get involved in calling walkers if they have an inspiring story they would like to share with us.

Sally (Finance)

I have been coming into Walk the Walk offices once a week for around six years now. More often than not I help out in the Finance team, the jobs there include filing and checking invoices. It is a great way to gain experience in the third sector and an insight on how charities work behind the scenes. I enjoy being a valued member of the office team and  I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Universities and employers love to see self motivated people... this is your chance to make that a reality by getting involved with our volunteer scheme.

Whether you are a student, a parent, retired or simply wanting to gain confidence in the work place why don’t you register your interest and we’ll give you a call, or fill in our application form and tell us more about yourself!

Sometimes we also need people when we have large mail outs which can be at quite short notice, and maybe only once or twice a year. If you would like to be apart of the back up team of volunteers then we would also love to hear from you

If you can spare as little as a couple of hours a week we would love to hear from you. Please phone Sally or Linda on 01483 741430 or just complete and return an application form and we will be in touch very soon.
