Teamwork makes the dream work!

Pink Bra 96X59px

September's Monthly Challenge is all about teamwork!

This is not your usual kind of Relay, this holds no boundaries of distance or time, but all of your Team mates must complete their Challenge Distance, together, or alone for the team to get medals!

"Autumn leaves don’t fall; they fly!" - Delia Owens

So grab your family, your neighbours and everyone you know… Get ready to inspire your team and just start walking!

Teams can be from 1 to 6 people… more than 6? Just make 2 Teams! Which distance will you each choose?

Take it Steady! - Walk 5 miles in one go!

Ramp it Up! - Walk 15 miles in one go!

Intensity! - Walk 25 miles in one go!

Whatever distances and wherever you may be, come together in this challenge and become a September Dream Team! Each person in your team must cross the finish line in order for everyone to receive their medals... you are in this together... what better motivation can there be!

Choose the option of Walk the Walk support and receive the Monthly Challenge Autumn medal, or you can do it purely for the love of Walking with our Free option.

Every mile you walk is good for you and will help those living with cancer!

September Monthly Challenge brings you 'September Relay'

Each month, Walk the Walk bring you a different walking challenge. Created not only as a way to keep you fitter, healthier and motivated to keep moving, but to also develop your walking skills.

This month is all about teamwork and becoming a September Dream Team. Helping your fellow walkers achieve their walking goal as well as your own!

What is 'September Relay'?

It's a team challenge for up to 6 people. You can Walk together or apart... choose the same, or different distances... and even on the same or different days... as long as it's completed in September… Then, and only by bringing all your finishing proofs together... do you get the Medals!

Even though this is a team challenge individuals can join and take part... but if you can, get your friends and family to join you too!

How does it work?

Each person in your team chooses a distance from the list below and then selects which entry option you wish to register for.

Please note you will need to choose the same entry option to be in the same team... so either with a medal with full support or the free option, or of course have 2 teams!

Take it Steady! - Walk 5 miles in one go!

Ramp it Up! - Walk 15 miles in one go!

Intensity! - Walk 25 miles in one go!

Entries close at Midnight on Wednesday 29th September 2021.

This is a fantastic way of coming together with friends, family, neighbours and everyone you know and stay walking motivated, whilst keeping healthy and fit! Plus whilst you're all completing a personal goal you will be making a difference to those living with cancer.

Good Luck!

How will the challenge be tracked?

What is Strava?

Strava is a free app to download, that uses GPS to record your distance walked... this is automatically connected to your online fundraising page on entry.

How do I get it?

You can connect your Strava account when you create your online fundraising page or later on via the "Connect to Strava" button on your fundraising page. This will be visible when you are logged in.

IMPORTANT! Your Strava settings!

When you are completing your challenge miles, ensure Strava is set to 'Everyone' and select 'walk' as the activity otherwise the miles may not be logged on your fundraising page. We can then track your miles to show you have achieved your goal!

For all other training or non-challenge walks set Strava to 'private'.

What if I can't or do not want to use Strava or want to use another device to track my distance?

If you are using a different measuring device please take a picture or a screenshot of your activity. Whilst you are logged into your fundraising page you can then add each of your walks as a manual activity to your page and add this photo to each activity, which will then be included in your total mileage. Click here for instructions for mobile upload or computer upload.

This must be received by 5th October 2021

Once we have notification your challenge is completed we will send an online certificate and your well-deserved medal will follow in the post.

Proof of completing the September Challenge

Is there a deadline for sending my proof of completion?

Yes. This date is the 5th October 2021

What will happen if I don’t get my proof of completion to you in time?

We will send you an email to remind you a few days before the deadline to send in your proof of completion. If we do not receive this in time we will be unable to send you your medal. Please remember that everyone in your team must complete their chosen distance and send in proof individually for all the team to receive their medals.

This is the responsibility of each challenger and must be received by Walk the Walk no later than 5th October 2021 to ensure that you all receive the well-deserved medal. Unfortunately, medals cannot be guaranteed after this date!

If you experience any problems submitting your proof of completion please let us know immediately so we can help you.

IMPORTANT! Your Strava settings!

When you set out for any walks, make sure Strava is set to 'Everyone' and select 'walk' as the activity otherwise the miles may not be logged on your fundraising page. We can then track your miles to show you have achieved your goal!

For all other training or non-challenge walks set Strava to 'private'.

What if I can't or do not want to use Strava or want to use another device to track my distance?

If you are using a different measuring device you can add your mileage daily or weekly as a manual activity to your page. You can also add pictures or screenshots of your activities, daily or weekly if you wish. Click here for instructions for mobile upload or computer upload.
