  1. Do's and Don'ts

Can I fundraise for another charity?

No. Because everybody taking part in Walk the Walk challenges is united in a single aim, all your fundraising must be sent to Walk the Walk. By not sending all your fundraising money to Walk the Walk you may be committing an offence.

Can I use any of my fundraising to pay for my travel expenses to the event?

NO. That is not permissible and is an offence.

Do I have to send in my fundraising before the event?

NO. If you collect any cheques or money now, by all means send them to us as cheques can become out of date if you hold onto them. We would like to receive your sponsorship within a couple of months of completing your challenge, but if you find it is taking longer please don’t worry about sending what you can now and the rest later – we will never turn money away

Can you send me a sponsor form?

Everyone who takes part in our challenges receives a sponsor form. You can also download one here.

Or for an even quicker way why not set-up an online sponsor page. It's quick and easy as well as helping us to save money!

  2. How much sponsorship do I have to raise?

£100 - We ask that everyone who enters The MoonWalk aims to raise a minimum of £100.

The money you raise can make a real difference to the lives of people with breast cancer.

£100 gives 65 chances for scientists to learn the role genes play in the progression of breast cancer - Genes behave differently, in different cancers. This money would pay for what scientists need to accurately measure the activity of specific genes in 65 samples of cancer cells, that helps identify which genes breast cancer relies on. For example, to spread cancer through the body, so we can stop that from happening in the future.

£300 pays for a Cancer Support Specialist to provide immediate advice and support for all visitors welcomed at a Centre each day.

Here are a few ways to help you reach that magic figure!

    • Share your online page with friends and family. Make the most of it by following our handy hints.
    • Exchange your time for donations e.g. walking your neighbour’s dog, washing cars.
    • Make something that you can sell, or sell your once loved things at a car boot sale or on Ebay.
    • Give something up for sponsorship! Go without your favourite treats for a month. Chocolate, alcohol, cake? Can you manage it?
    • Check out our ten top tips here!
    • And finally… who doesn’t love cake? Have a bake sale at work or school!

  3. I have yet to collect all my sponsorship for 2019 can I enter?

If you have taken part in The MoonWalk London 2019 but have yet to send in all, or any of your fundraising, you can still enter The MoonWalk London 2020. However, we would encourage you to send in your sponsorship as soon as possible. In October we will be in touch with all those that have entered MoonWalk London 2020, where our records show, we have not received any fundraising for The MoonWalk London 2019.

  4. Can you send me a London sponsor form?

Everyone who takes part in our challenges receives a sponsor form. You can also download one here.

  5. Are you a Multi Challenger?

Thank you for joining us on more than one challenge, please be aware that any money you raise over and above the minimum requirement for this challenge cannot be transferred to another year.
