Spring into March and Find your Mojo!

This month’s challenge is all about technique and speed and you don't get one without the other! Good walking technique can help you get fitter, is great for posture, tones muscle, burns calories, can increase your walking speed and then... put it all to the test and it will help you achieve your goal!

So go on, find your Mojo, choose a distance below and we'll give you all the technique and advice you need. It's up to you to practice over the month and then go out and conquer your challenge! You can try it as many times as you like, just send us proof of the one walk you are most happy with. 

What could be better than to be motivated and have a goal you can actually take control of in these uncertain times... Plus, the much needed money you raise will be used to help provide services and care for those living with cancer. 

'Take it Steady!' - Walk 3 miles in 54 minutes (18 minute miles)

'Ramp it Up!' - Walk 4 miles in 1 hour (15 minute miles)

'Intensity!' - Walk 5 miles in 1 hour 5 minutes (13 minute miles)

You can choose from having a 'Unique Monthly Challenge Spring Medal' and full Walk the Walk support option, or you can go it alone with the free one... We are here to help you reach your goal!

The Monthly Challenge and ‘Find your Mojo... March!'

Each month, Walk the Walk bring you different walking challenges. This month is all about getting to grips with good technique that will help to increase your speed. Sounds simple, but it actually does take a bit of mastery and practice. Whilst walking generally is good for the mind, body and soul, it's worth knowing that the faster you go, the more technique you will need. 

 

What is 'Find your Mojo... March'?

This month we ask you to focus on yourself, use this walking challenge as a bit of 'me time' and forget about anything other than moving forward with good technique... this means giving your arms and legs a good workout!

You have from 1st - 31st March to complete one of the distances listed below within the set time. 

We will send you everything you need to help you achieve your goal, and you've got time to do a few practice walks!

 

How does it work?

The time and distance listed for each challenge below must be achieved between 1st - 31st March 2021.

Providing Proof of completion is the responsibility of the challenger and must be received no later than 4th April 2021 to ensure that paying entrants receive the well-deserved medal. Medals cannot be guaranteed after this date.

It simple, it’s fun and is a great way to set yourself a goal that will see you walking all the way into Spring... and at the same time keeping you healthy and fit. Make sure you set your bar at an achievable height, and one that works with your life!

For the collectors medal it is £15 to register… but if you want to go it alone and use it as a personal challenge with no medal then it is FREE... 

 

It is our aim that Walk the Walk keeps you feeling motivated and inspires you to achieve something new each month… whilst hopefully raising money to help those living with cancer...

These medals are extra special... you can collect 3 different medals for 3 different levels over a 3-month period (each level is a different colour), put them together and create one unique medal... simply mix up the ‘levels’! 

March is the first month of our Spring series... so make sure you add to your collection and register for the Challenge!

Fundraising!

Every penny you raise really does count... Walk the Walk needs your support now more than ever. Nothing must stop us uniting together against breast and other cancers… cancer doesn’t stop and neither will we!

 

The minimum amount you fundraise depends on your choice of Challenge Entry:

 

  • Challenge Entry and Medal – Minimum Fundraising goal is £25.00 per person.
  • Free Challenge Entry only – No minimum fundraising - we ask that you raise what you can or make a small donation.

How will the challenge be tracked?

Upload your picture showing your completed distance in your set time!

Please take a picture or screen shot to show your completed distance in the time allowed and upload it here. This must be received by Sunday 4th April 2021 to enable us to send your well-deserved medal (paid option). Please note: Even if you connect to Strava and it has uploaded your completed challenge to your fundraising page, this form must also be completed in order to confirm your proof of completion.

 

Once we have notification your challenge is complete we will send an online congratulatory certificate and your well-deserved medal will follow in the post.

 

What is Strava?

Strava is a free app to download, that uses GPS to record your distance walked... this can be automatically connected to your online fundraising page on entry.

 

How do I get it?

You can connect your Strava account when you create your online fundraising page or later on via the "Connect to Strava" button on your fundraising page. This will be visible when you are logged in.

 

IMPORTANT! Your Strava settings!

When you are completing your training and challenge miles, ensure Strava is set to 'Everyone' so your miles will show on your online fundraising page for all to see.

 

For all training or non-challenge walks set Strava to 'private' if you would prefer it not to appear on your online fundraising page.

Proof of completing the Find your Mojo Challenge

Is there a deadline for giving in my proof of completion?

Yes. This date is the 4th April 2021. We will send you an email to remind you a few days before the deadline to send in your proof of completion by uploading a picture of your distance and time by using this form. We need to receive this on time to be able to send you your medal.

 

What will happen if I don’t get my proof of completion to you in time?

We will send you an email to remind you a few days before the deadline to send in your proof of completion. If we do not receive this in time we will be unable to send you your medal.
