Create a team... choose your distance… get out walking...

Pink Bra 96X59px

Freestyling February is all about togetherness...

This month's challenge is about gathering your team mates closer at a time when we have to be apart... how fantastic to achieve the distance together by accumulating the miles and conquering a goal over 4 weeks!

Take it steady: 100 miles : Ramp it up: 200 miles : Intensity: 350 miles

Gather your friends and family and create a Team (maximum of 6, but number of teams not limited) and simply select one of the distances listed above! Split it equally or share the miles to suit your abilities... but remember each person in the Team must contribute towards the total by walking a minimum of 10 miles over the course of the month... the rest of the miles are up to you!

So what are you waiting for... Freestyle your way through February and choose from a unique medal and full Walk the Walk support option or you can go it alone with our free option.

Whilst we might be apart, nothing can stop us coming together in a common goal and making a vital difference to those living with cancer!

The truth is Team work is at the heart of great achievements!

The Monthly Challenge and ‘Freestyling February'

Whilst we have to be apart, February is all about Walking the Walk together... its about Team work, joining forces and conquering a distance no matter where you are.... virtually of course!

What is 'Freestyling February'?

Each Team has from 1st - 28th February 2021 to complete one of the distances listed below… each Team must consist of 2 - 6 people, so if you have lots of friends and family that want to take part, you can make as many Teams as you need… (if you wish to enter on your own, you must complete the whole distance).

Each Team member must contribute a minimum of 10 miles towards the total, after that it is up to you and your Team to conquer the miles in whichever way works for you. You may want to walk a few miles a day, or perhaps longer walks over your days off or even a lockdown garden challenge, the stronger walkers may walk further than those that don’t have so much time or ability... it is up to you and your Team to decide... anything is possible with 'Freestyling February'

How does it work?

Gather your Team... choose your distance... create a unique Team name... select which entry option the Team wish to register for (Entry medal and support or £Free)... then head to the website and register... You're on the start line!

Looking for a paper Sponsor Form?

You can download one here.

How will the challenge be tracked?

What is Strava?

Strava is a free app to download, that uses GPS to record your distance walked... this is automatically connected to your online fundraising page on entry.

How do I get it?

You can connect your Strava account when you create your online fundraising page or later on via the "Connect to Strava" button on your fundraising page. This will be visible when you are logged in.

IMPORTANT! Your Strava settings!

When you are completing your challenge miles, ensure Strava is set to 'Everyone' and select 'walk' as the activity otherwise the miles may not be logged on your fundraising page. We can then track your miles to show you have achieved your goal!

For all other training or non-challenge walks set Strava to 'private'.

What if I can't or do not want to use Strava or want to use another device to track my distance?

If you are using a different measuring device, please take a picture to show your distance completed and upload to your fundraising page. You then manually add the miles achieved on each of your walks to your fundraising page (click here for instructions for mobile upload or computer upload) and this will show against your Team total mileage.

This must be received by Wednesday 3rd March 2021.

Once we have notification your challenge is completed we will send an online certificate and your well deserved medal will follow in the post.
