Join the Walk the Walk 20th birthday party!

New York City Marathon is not only the world’s greatest marathon, but 2016 is Walk the Walk’s very special 20th birthday and this marathon, 20 years ago, is where it all started!

In 1996, 13 women Power Walked the New York City Marathon in their bras to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. What started out as a one-off fundraising event has blossomed into a thriving charity, raising to date in excess of £105 million for vital breast cancer causes.

This year we aim to celebrate our special 20th anniversary and uniting against breast cancer! So join the party atmosphere on Sunday 6th November with Walk the Walk in the Big Apple.

26.2 miles crossing 5 bridges…

Starting at the Verrazano Bridge on Staten Island, Walkers cross into Brooklyn and then proceed through Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan, and finishing in the very famous Central Park.

The choice is yours... for 2016 not only do we have a choice of airports to fly from (London Heathrow or Edinburgh Airport) but you also have a choice of hotels.

Our group will be staying in the heart of the Big Apple, with a choice of two traditional New York hotels, and both within a few minutes walk to Times Square. The main group will stay in one of New York’s most historic hotels, the fabulously art deco The Edison Hotel, a short walk from Times Square. Or you can choose to ‘upgrade’ to one of the elite race hotels, The Sheraton Hotel, where you will rub shoulders with the world’s finest athletes and media. Both hotels just ooze marathon weekend!

The Big Apple is a simply amazing experience, combining a superb marathon in a vibrant and unique city full of culture; and you could even squeeze in a bit of early Christmas shopping.

Join us in the Big Apple and undoubtedly the world’s No. 1 marathon!

From Karen and Anna

"Myself and Anna would like to say a very big 'thank you' (to Nina) for such an amazing weekend in New York. We were so well looked after and made our weekend so much fun. The International Breakfast Run on the Saturday was crazy and great fun, it is something we would recommend to anyone who is going to do this Marathon as it certainly gets you into high spirits and the fun factor is great. It was really nice to meet all people and hear why people are doing this marathon. The team were all great and it was so nice to make new friends. The marathon was an absolutely amazing experience; Guy looked after us well and made sure we were all warm keeping us doing the hokey kooky which I must say was crazy but great fun. The Americans are fantastic supporters of this event and made us feel like celebrities, we must say at points in the marathon our faces hurt more than our legs through laughing and smiling so much. This weekend will be a memory for a long time. Thanks for all your organising and making it such a fab weekend!"

Just wanted to say thank you to WTW - its been amazing, emotional, fun and will stay with me for a very long time!- Julie
