Information below is based on the 2018 challenge, to be used as a guide only and subject to change.

    Day 1 - Friday 25 October 2019:

We have a fabulous long weekend ahead of us, with lots to see and do!

Book your flights from your local airport, convenient for you to arrive at Dublin City Airport. All Walkers will need to be at the hotel by 14:30 our Walk the Walk Team will be on hand to welcome you! At 15.00 we will have our Welcome Briefing and yummy traditional Irish Afternoon Tea!

Late afternoon and evening will be yours to enjoy the sights and sounds of Dublin. There is much to do in the evenings, with the famous Grafton Street just a short 10 minute walk away, where there is a wide and wonderful range of shops from high end boutique shops to some of the best high street brands in their luxury capital flagship stores. Or you could try out the local spa, to relax and prepare yourself for the marathon.

Our Walk the Walk Team will be able to advise you on some award winning local restaurants, bars or very nice places to visit, where you can enjoy a lovely meal, all just a short walk away from the hotel.

    Included: Afternoon Tea

    Day 2 - Saturday 26 October 2019:

Today is free for you to explore the city and see what it has to offer. You will need to make your way to the Marathon Exhibition to pick up your all-important Race Numbers at some point today. There are many stalls and exhibitors at the event, and it’s good to spend a bit of time milling around the stalls.

Walk the Walk will recommend some wonderful activities for you to book such as Dublin City Tours, The Irish Whiskey Museum or Kilmainham Gaol! We recommend you save the Guinness Storehouse and St James Brewery for the Monday, after the Marathon.

At approx 18.00 we will come together for our Tactics Talk where we will go through the plan for the Big Marathon Day and share lots of tips and advice. From here we will head out to our Pasta Party, which is our opportunity to carb load on a delicious three-course meal. The restaurant is one of the finest in Dublin and is just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. The rest of the evening will be free for you to relax, get ready and rest up in preparation for the BIG DAY!

Included: Breakfast and 3 course Pasta Party.

    Day 3 - Sunday 27 October 2019:

The BIG DAY has arrived, and words cannot describe how exciting it is… and perhaps a few nerves!

After breakfast, we will leave the hotel as a group and walk the short distance to the Marathon start line - it is a fantastic atmosphere as we walk in all our bra glory down to our starting area.

The marathon is a classic loop, which starts and finishes in the city centre near the famous Trinity College. It is mostly flat, except for a couple of longer climbs of 50m plus in the 2nd half… not too many! We will finish in historic surroundings!

After crossing the Finish Line and getting your much deserved medal, you will head back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening RELAXING. As you never know how you will feel after the marathon, this evening, the choice is yours; either celebrate in style or in comfort. For those after style, we have some local recommendations that may just tickle your fancy, one of which will be just round the corner; O'Donoghue's Pub is where The Dubliners, the famous Irish folk band, were founded in the 1960’s, and live bands still play amazing local folk music... it’s a real treat!

Included: Breakfast and Marathon race entry

    Day 4 - Monday 28 October 2019:

Today is free for you to do as you wish after the Marathon! Today we suggest a visit to the famous Guinness Storehouse & St James’s Brewery; you can’t come to Dublin without trying the real Guinness! You may fancy something slightly different, such as relaxing in The Dawson Spa to relax those tired muscles, The Little Museum of Dublin or Dublin Bay Cruises.

There is so much to see and do; this really is a fabulous city!

    Included: Breakfast.
