Winter Fundraising Ideas

Don your Christmas jumper, settle down in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows of course... unwrap our Christmas fundraising ideas and get creative. Have fun!

Make fundraising for Walk the Walk fun this Winter, in the lead up to Christmas, with selling and making your own preserves, hosting a Christmas Fair or simply having a festive film night.

Barn Dance
Invite your friends, supply refreshments, charge an entrance fee... you could even hold a raffle on the night to bump up those donations! Dancing is obligatory... so pull on your cowboy boots, grab your partner by the hand and get your 'Hoedown' on!

Dinner Party
Organise a fundraising dinner party for your friends. Charge £5-10 per head and you could even offer to be taxi for the night!

Carol Singing
Spread the festive cheer and raise some money at the same time! Gather a group of friends together and sing some Christmas carols in your neighbourhood. Don’t forget the Walk the Walk banner and leaflets to let everyone know about the charity you are supporting and a couple of collection tubs from our WalkWear shop for the donations.

Christmas Fair
All that’s required is a school hall or village hall, some exhibitors and a bit of advertisement. Charge exhibitors £15 and £5 entry fee for everyone else. Approach a variety of exhibitors selling cupcakes, chocolates, jewellery, photography, maybe some Christmas cards... One of our walkers raised £600 from this alone!

Christmas decoration

Hamper
Make up a pink hamper (ask people to donate items) and then raffle it off at work or at your fundraising event.

Homemade Preserves Sale
Why not put your culinary skills to the test and create some homemade chutneys or jams to sell? Any leftovers would make lovely Christmas presents too!

Treasure Hunt
This one doesn’t just have to be for children- it’s a great one for kids of all ages! Simply create some clues and charge your friends/family to hunt the ‘treasure’ and let the fun unfold!

Sponsor a Christmas Decoration
Encourage your friends, family, customers and colleagues to sponsor a bauble or a ribbon to put on the Christmas tree.

Mulled wine and marshmallows
Ask your children's school friends round for a toasted marshmallow evening, invite the parents to come too, make some mulled wine and mince pies and ask for a donation for every glass they have!

Party
Any excuse for a party (Christmas, New Year, Birthday...)! Pick a date, a theme, provide the food and drinks and invite your guests! Charge them an entry fee and make sure you have all those fantastic party games ready to maximise your sponsorship.

Christmas cards
Add stickers to your Christmas cards with a link to your online fundraising page, or don’t send cards at all; put half of the money you save on the cards and postage towards your fundraising. Let your friends know via an email that you are doing this.

Christmas lights
Do you like decorating the front of your house with lots of lights? Do you get random people visiting just to adore the decorations? Why not put a collection tub out by your gate and get some extra pennies for Walk the Walk?

Soup Lunch Fundraiser
Cook up a large batch of soup and take it in to work! Encourage those that normally pop out and buy lunch (and even those that don’t!) to save money and donate to a worthy cause - charge just £2 per bowl - it's a win, win!

Unwanted gifts sale in January
Did you (or any of your friends or family) receive any Christmas presents that you didn’t really need? Instead of leaving them at the back of your cupboard, why don’t you sell them and donate the proceeds to Walk the Walk?

Leaf Clearing
Ask friends, family and neighbours if they need their gardens and pathways cleared of autumn leaves... in return for a donation to your fundraising of course!

If you have a fundraising event or activity planned, take a look at our extra bits and pieces to help you... if we can help in any way, please do get in touch.

Raise money, Raise awareness, Get fit and Have the best fun Walking the Walk!
