Spring is in the air... March fundraising charity walk ideas

Make raising money and awareness for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk fun, and check out our fresh Spring fundraisers!

With Spring in the air... it’s the season for fresh starts and new beginnings so let’s so have a look at our fun ways to help your fundraising start blooming!

Take a look at our fresh spring fundraising ideas below for some inspiration:

Cleaning cars

Many car washes are currently closed, and cars have got pretty dirty, encrusted in mud and salt from the roads. Check the weather forecast for a warm day, and offer your services as a car cleaner to your neighbours.  Arm yourself with buckets of warm soapy water, sponges, cloths and rubber gloves and charge a donation to rid their cars of grime. Get the kids involved to make it a family affair!

Spring Cleaning

While we’re talking about cleaning and fresh starts, what could be nicer than a sweet smelling, clean house! Dig out your feather dusters and offer to help your neighbours, friends and family get their houses ship shape this Spring, in exchange for a donation of course! Make sure you follow the COVID rules in your area and are suitably protected. YES... some people DO love to clean!

Mother’s Day

Help others to show they love their Mum and are thinking of her even if they can’t see her! What could be nicer than a home-made box of sweeties! So get your aprons ready and knock up some fudge, coconut ice, or chocolate truffles. Pop it in tissue paper in little boxes and tie with a pretty ribbon. Advertise your goodies to your Facebook friends, or on Facebook Marketplace with a link to your fundraising page, and watch those orders flood in!

Another Mother’s day fundraiser!

Mums love something homemade, so get crafty! From Mother’s Day cards to personalised bookmarks, cupcakes to necklaces; your friends and neighbours will thank you for helping them to give their Mum something truly unique this March. Advertise through Facebook or a local website and help to make Mother’s Day special this year!

Garage Sale /Car Boot Sale / eBay

During lockdown, we’ve all had a bit of a clear out, so, rather than just binning your unwanted stuff, sell it! Gather all those unused gifts, clothes, toys, books, DVDs and choose the most convenient way of selling them for you. You can set up shop on your drive, go to the local car boot sale, or post them on Ebay/Facebook Marketplace or one of the many recycling sites. It’s a great way to de-clutter your house and boost your fundraising total! Of course, you could just take your pre loved stuff to your local charity shop so someone benefits from your clear out.

Easter ideas …

With Easter at the beginning of April, now is the time to think about how you can make the most of the event to boost your fundraising total!

Knitted Egg Cosies

If you’re handy with the needles, now is the time to get cracking knitting these charming little duckling egg cosies! Not only are they cute but you pop a chocolate egg inside each one, and hey presto, you have a lovely gift for a special person! Promote your ducklings via Facebook and watch your donations multiply! Click here for the pattern.

Easter Egg Hunt

Everyone loves an Easter egg hunt, it’s a great way to keep the children occupied, (and adults too!) You could charge a fee to cover the cost of the eggs and incorporate an extra pound or two for donations.  Don’t forget to follow the Government guidelines on social distancing!
