Special Afternoon Tea in the historic House of Lords

Our great friends at Breast Cancer Now invited Walk the Walk’s Founder and Chief Executive Nina Barough and some of our wonderful Walkers and Volunteers to celebrate 21 years of our fantastic partnership.

The historic Houses of Parliament is a spectacular sight on the route for The MoonWalk London – but we don’t normally get to go inside! That all changed yesterday as some of Walk the Walk’s amazing supporters enjoyed a very special Afternoon Tea in the historic House of Lords!

Our great friends at Breast Cancer Now invited Walk the Walk’s Founder and Chief Executive Nina Barough and some of our wonderful Walkers and Volunteers to celebrate 21 years of our fantastic partnership. Over the years, Walk the Walk has granted an incredible £34 million to Breast Cancer Now for vital research. Guests tucked into tasty sandwiches, cakes and scones in the Attlee room, with a portrait of former Prime Minister Clement Attlee looking down on us while we ate!

We heard inspiring speeches from Nina and from Baroness Delyth Morgan, the Chief Executive of Breast Cancer Now.

Nina spoke about how we are “all on a mission together”, united in the goal that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live.

Delyth thanked Nina for Walk the Walk’s incredible support, which has helped Breast Cancer Now fund many ground-breaking projects – including their Breast Cancer Tissue Bank and a brand new research fellowship, which is being advertised as we speak.

Nina was also delighted to meet Theresa Dauncey at the Afternoon Tea. Theresa took the original call from Nina offering the first £25,000 raised by Walk the Walk all those years ago. From small acorns – an amazing tree grew! What an inspiring day!

So go on… keep Walking the Walk with us and continue to make a difference! Thank you for uniting with us against breast cancer and for making this all possible!
