Charity CEO urges fundraisers to join her at the New York Marathon
The Founder and CEO of breast cancer charity Walk the Walk is urging fundraisers from across the country to walk the iconic New York City Marathon with her on Sunday 5th November.
Nina Barough has already power walked the iconic marathon in the Big Apple an incredible 21 times. The first time was back in 1996, when Nina completed the marathon with 13 friends, raising £25,000 for breast cancer research. She then went on to create the famous overnight fundraising event, The MoonWalk and to form grant-making breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
The charity has now raised an incredible £137 million, which is granted to help support research into breast cancer and to help improve the lives of those with cancer now.
But it was in New York that Walk the Walk took its first steps as a charity and Nina still leads a team of fundraisers taking on the Big Apple marathon course every year.
