At The MoonWalk London, there are 2 challenges:
Please be aware that to create a really interesting route we made the decision to extend our Half Moon by 2 miles... but don’t worry, you have plenty of time to prepare and if you can do 13.1 you can certainly go another 2!
The "Roaring Twenties"
The challenge starts and finishes at Clapham Common
Wearing a bra to take on a challenge is the Walk the Walk trademark and one of the reasons we manage to raise so much awareness and money for our vital causes. We all know how much courage it can take to go out onto the streets wearing a bra but we can promise you that within a few minutes of being in the company of so many thousands of others it will feel like the most normal thing to be doing. If you feel self-conscious then read on...
Firstly, you wont be alone one thing we can guarantee is that every age, shape and size will be at The MoonWalk! There are many clever ways to decorate your bra which will give you more confidence on the night. Why not read more about our decorating tips here
Again, it is all about raising awareness and most men taking part will be wearing bras, many of them using them as pockets for power bars and mobile phones. In fact some of our most over the top efforts come from the gentlemen!
YES! Men can Walk the Walk too but they don't get away with not wearing a bra as The MoonWalk is all about raising awareness and wearing a decorated bra is the Walk the Walk trademark and one of the reasons we manage to raise so much awareness and money for our vital causes!
Walkers must be at least 13 years of age on 13 May 2017
The full moon and half moon will walk the first few miles together before splitting.
Unfortunately for health and safety reasons, we are unable to publicise where the route will go. If you have entered, this information will be available in your Event Information Book.
NO. Due to the nature of the event and the number of people taking part, it is not possible for you to take part in The MoonWalk with your walking poles as this could lead to an unintentional injury of either yourself or others. Our volunteers in MoonWalk City or out on the route will ask you to hand over your poles, which will be returned to you on the finish line.
Disabled entrants are welcome to take part, although due to the nature of the event we ask you to contact us (+44 (0)1483 741430) prior to filling in the entry form as some disabilities may not find the event feasible. Please be aware of the following:
No. The MoonWalk is a Power Walking challenge and running is not an option. All marshals on the route are instructed to report any participants running and to advise them that this is a Power Walking only challenge.
Any participants running any part of the route will be asked to leave the course immediately and will not receive a medal.
Amazing night - the minute silence to reflect on why we're there will stay with me forever.Julie Taylor
